With an average of 1.8 million homes on the market on any given day in the second quarter of 2013, home list prices are rising in major metro markets around the nation as housing inventory continues shrinking, but the city of Detroit, which filed for bankruptcy last month, is that one surprising dark horse among the Top 10 of Realtor.com's Turnaround Towns Report. With a median list price up by 37.8 percent, Detroit is second only to Oakland, Calif., where the median list price rose 41.3 percent. And in Detroit, the rate as which homes in this category are selling beats out every single town east of the Rockies. "Detroit has made remarkable progress in the last year, shrinking its inventory of unsold homes by more than 26 percent and becoming one of the most balanced markets in the nation," said Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Move, which operates Realtor.com. However, despite it's progress, Detroit ranks No. 7 overall on this list of the top turnaround towns. See if you can guess which towns made up the other nine, and then test your answers against the slideshow below. Hint: No town in Florida made the list this quarter. TOP 10 TURNAROUND TOWNS:

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Eric Volkman]
InterDigital (NASDAQ: IDCC ) is about to raise its global profile following an international patent licensing deal. The company announced that it has entered an agreement with Spain-based Teltronic Unipersonal for the latter to license a set of its 4G technologies. The terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

When traders think of an IP (intellectual property) company, they tend to conjure up names like InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC), VirnetX Holding Corporation (NYSEMKT:VHC), or of course, the well-known Vringo, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRNG). And, investors see these patent-enforcement names as such for good reason.... between VRNG, IDCC, and VHC, the three organizations own well over 20,000 technology patents, and their efforts to enforce them have been well-documented, and well publicized. Thing is, as the patent-protection industry matures, companies like Vringo, InterDigital, or VirnetX Holding may well find that it's the quality of the patent portfolio rather than the quantity of patents that makes an IP owner a potent investment. Enter Endeavor IP Inc. (OTCBB:ENIP).
Hot Heal Care Stocks To Own For 2014: AbbVie Inc (ABBV)
AbbVie Inc. (AbbVie), incorporated on April 10, 2012, is a research-based pharmaceuticals company. The Company discovers, develops, and commercializes advanced therapies. AbbVie's portfolio of products include a line of adult and pediatric pharmaceuticals, which includes HUMIRA, metabolics/hormones products, virology products, endocrinology products, dyslipidemia products and other products.

In October 2012, AbbVie initiated a comprehensive Phase III program for hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype one.
Advisors' Opinion:- [By Brian Orelli]
That's true of rheumatoid arthritis, which has multiple blockbuster drugs serving patients. Pfizer's hoping that its oral medication, Xeljanz, can take down the current offerings, including Johnson & Johnson's Remicade, AbbVie's (NYSE: ABBV ) Humira, and Enbrel, sold by Pfizer and Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN ) , which all have to be injected. It'll take awhile to capture sales from drugs that doctors are comfortable prescribing, but investors will be happy with just a fraction of the market -- Remicade topped $6 billion last year, Enbrel broke $4 billion, and Humira topped the list at $9.3 billion.

On Tuesday, AbbVie Inc (ABBV) released phase III results from the SAPPHIRE-II study, which is the second of six phase 3 studies for the treatment of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype 1 (GT1) infection.

There are 160 million infected with hepatitis C worldwide. ABBV’s HCV program is currently the largest all oral, interferon-free clinical program in GT1 patients being conducted.
AbbVie shares were mostly flat during Tuesday morning trading. The stock is up 50% YTD.

Here are insights on the conference call that ensued, fromISI’s biotech and pharmaceutical industry analystMark Schoenbaum, paraphrased:
Merck wants “bolt-ons” acquisitions (like Idenix Pharmaceuticals (IDIX)) versus big purchases. Moreover, it is not interested in a deal primarily or solely for tax inversion purposes … [That's not ruling out the possibility of buying a foreign company to avoid U.S. taxes, but the language seems contrary to the foreign-merger possibilities for other healthcare companies, includingValeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX), Actavis (ACT), Pfizer (PFE), AbbVie (ABBV), Medtronic (MDT) and evenWalgreen (WAG).] Merck sees a “high likelihood” of success for the four-week Hepatitis C regimen from C-SWIFT when presented at a medical conference this fall. (The combo treatment includes Gilead’s Sovaldi, already on the market, and a Merck regimen.) The company sees “lots of opportunities” to possibly accelerate Food & Drug Administration filings for an experimental immuno-oncology drug for lung cancer patients. It’s excited about the expected Aug. 14 FDA decision on insomnia drug Suvorexant. (Wall Street is bearish on commercial prospects.) Merck expects U.S. volume growth for diabetes drug Januvia (which is roughly 25% of earnings) in the second half of 2014.For healthcare investing ideas and insight on so-called tax inversions, see the Barrons.com Q&A with Andy Acker, manager of the Janus Global Life Sciences Fund (JAGLX): “Undervalued Biotech Stocks Help Fund Beat the Index,” July 29. Abbott Labs' (NYSE: ABT ) stock has surged this year, shooting up more than 15% since the start of 2013. Despite the company's spinoff of former pharmaceutical firm AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV ) -- a move that waved goodbye to its high-growth pharmaceuticals business, including massive immunology blockbuster Humira that pulled in $9 billion in sales last year -- Abbott has still managed to find growth by turning to a new engine: emerging markets.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Taylor Muckerman and Joel South]
Much like the wine industry in California, Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE: BUD ) has made its opposition to hydraulic fracturing for natural gas in Germany well known. Due to purity laws dating back to the 1500s, German brewers are worried about the contamination of their water sources, which must remain absent of any unnatural additives.
- [By Matt Basil]
Let's start withAnheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE: BUD ) . According to its accounting, A-B InBev controlled 47.2% of the U.S. market share in December 2013. That is impressive, considering there are over 2,700 breweries in the United States. Bud's strength is derived primarily from two of the most recognizable brands in the country: the classic Budweiser, which, according to Beer Marketer's INSIGHTS, accounted for 8.4% of the U.S. beer market share in 2012, and his cash cow of a brother, Bud Light. In 2012, Bud Light commanded 18.5% of the domestic beer market; more than double that of the nearest competitor, Coors Light. Even college favorite Natural Light made the top five individual brands with 3.7%. In all, it's a market share fitting the King of Beers.
- [By Charles Sizemore]
In mid-February of last year, Anheuser-Busch Inbev (BUD) acquired Mexican brewer Grupo Modelo, the maker of the Corona and Negro Modelo brands, but as part of the deal, BUD had to sell the distribution rights via its stake in Crown Imports in order to keep the regulators happy.

Small cap stocks Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd (OTCMKTS: DKAM), 7 Star Entertainment Inc (OTCMKTS: SAEE), Rising India Inc (OTCMKTS: RSII) and Big Tree Group Inc (OTCMKTS: BIGG) have all been attracting attention thanks to paid promotions. Of course, there is nothing wrong with properly disclosed and paid for promotions or investor relation activities, but they can backfire on unwary investors and traders alike. So are stock promoters blowing a bunch of hot air regarding these four small cap stocks or are they actually potential winners? Here is a quick reality check to help you decide:

It should be mentioned that all three small cap stocks have been the subject of paid promotions albeit none of these stocks have been over promoted. So where can investors and traders expect these stocks to head this week? Here is a quick look at what you might expect:
- [By Bryan Murphy]
Say whatever you want about Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd. (OTCMKTS:DKAM), but one thing is undeniable... this company is producing a lot of revenue despite being a very small company. More specifically, the DKAM market cap is abnormally low relative to the sales figures the company is putting up.
- [By Bryan Murphy]
Even though you're reading this now, odds are that three weeks ago you'd never even heard of Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd. (OTCMKTS:DKAM). And, like so many other young, nano-cap stocks, it would be easy to assume the current strength being exhibited by DKAM is nothing but a short-term phenomenon, meaning there's no particular reason to jump on the stock now. If there was ever a reason to jump onto a micro cap name for a quick trade though, this may be it.

As a result, footwear retailers have posted dismal results for the holiday quarter. However, there is an exception to this. Skechers USA (SKX) has been a great performer and its holiday quarter delivered strong numbers, bucking the industry wide trend. Its results beat analystsexpectations, leading to a sharp increase in its stock price.
